Individual Counseling Service

What is counseling?

Individual counseling provides a confidential and supportive space where you can talk with a professional counseling psychologist about your concerns. Many students seek counseling to cope with stress, adjust to university life, navigate relationships, or explore personal growth. You do not need to have a “serious problem” to come to counseling—any concern that affects your well-being is welcome.

During counseling, you and your counseling psychologist will work together to understand your experiences, clarify your needs, and explore ways to support your emotional and mental health. Sessions are usually 50 minutes and are scheduled once every one to two weeks, depending on your situation.

Counseling is confidential, free of charge for enrolled students, and offered in English and Chinese.

Whether you are struggling or simply wish to know yourself better, counseling can be a helpful step toward a healthier and more balanced life.

We also offer events specifically designed for international students. Past topics have included life and cultural adjustment, stress and emotion management, communication in intimate relationships, coping with procrastination, and more.
